He Is the Watchman

Serving Widows from their Hearts to their Homes

Who Is The Watchman?

The Watchman is the God of Scripture: the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the LORD. He is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God watches over the widows and He cares for them deeply. In the Scriptures, He tells us that He loves the widow as well as the orphan, the foreigner and the poor.

"A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling."
Psalm 68:5, NIV

Our vision is to see the local widow served well, loved with dignity and held in high regard as Our God and Father serves, loves and holds them. There are many ways that you too can join in that work. You can:

Our Mission

We exist to meet the needs of our area widows, to assist in repair and maintenance from their hearts to their homes, to encourage the development of a healthy recovery, to maintain wholesome attitudes and meaningful self worth through a relationship with Jesus Christ and participation in the continual learning and healing process of life.

Our Beliefs

01

We believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, creator of all things.

02

We believe that Jesus Christ, God the Son, became incarnate, was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.

03

We believe that the Bible, in its entirety, is the inspired Word of God and is the only infallible rule of faith and conduct.

04

We believe in the personal salvation of believers through the shed blood of Christ alone.

05

We believe in the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, through the blood of Christ, resulting in personal holiness of heart and life.

06

We believe in the Christian's blessd hope- the imminent, personal return of the resurrected and living Lord Jesus Christ.

Our History

Wilford A. Martin's (1911-1997) devotion to God and tireless dedication to area widows inspired the development of Widow's Watchman Ministries. Through prayerful consideration since Mr. Martin's passing, those close to him saw the need to continue what he had started. Over the last few years many more have also seen the need to assist those widows in our churches and communities. This led to the forming of a board of directors in the year 2000. Board members are made up of community and church leaders and in the late 2001 we became a 501(c) 3 organization.
